Just Sayin’…
A few weeks ago, I drove the scooter to my gym. It’s a pretty good haul, and I had a heavy backpack on…well…my back. It was really windy that day. Wind + scootin’ about 45 mph = some scary sh*t. Plus, I almost got hit twice by morons pulling out of side streets without stopping, nor looking, cuz, well, ya know…they were on that all-important cellphone call.
Then I come to find out about about chef (and Cowboy Chow/Twisted Root owner) Jason Boso was hit by a freakin’ Hummer (figures) almost 6 weeks ago while riding his Vespa. He spent 5 WEEKS in the hospital and is still recovering. And of course the terrible news about Chad “Cadillac Fraf” Percy, in another scooter accident which leaves him still, in a coma. I guess you could say, I’ve been kinda spooked, as of late.
However, yesterday I knew I had to start ‘er up, fill ‘er up with gas, and let the girl outta the garage for a bit. It was really nice. It was windy, so I kept the scoot on neighborhood roads, but it was nice just the same. I truly hope that with the growing scooter-ridin’ population growing every day, that drivers will start to take notice and quit runnin’ us down.
PS: The scoot now goes from empty to full for only $3.54. Daaaayuuum!
The girl-child must have shot this photo-booth pic before her departure back to Austin a few weeks ago. I found it on the Mac this morning.
As you can see (picture taken months ago in Austin), the little pooch has growed-up real fast.
I miss that kid and her little dog. I need to go to Austin soon. I miss them dearly.

I’ll admit it freely. I’m a Fort-Worthian wannabe. My favorite people live there. My favorite bands play there. My favorite writers and bloggers write and blog there. One site in particular, is a regular read, and those boys just turned the page on one whole year. If you don’t read West and Clear, then you should. Congrats to them!

After a year-long search, I finally landed a job. A job I really really really wanted. I’m so excited, I’m a bit beside myself. Starting next week, I’ll be blathering on a daily basis about the joint, the build to the grand opening and other stuff, with lots of video. Yay!
Gotta go get Hal some cupcakes for tonight…see you there?
